Sorry it’s been quiet the last few days. I have been working on a little side project, a set of actions and html templates to ease in adding the browser UI to photoshop comps.
The general idea is to save your flat comp as a .jpg or .png and insert into this HTML template. This will put the UI around your image which gives the client a better understanding how the site will actually look in the browser.
Alternately, I have been working on some actions which will build the UI directly into the photoshop document around your comp, regardless of size. I work at a historically traditional ad firm and they like to show mounted/boarded comps. So that’s the idea behind the actions.
If you are interested in something like this, let me know and I’ll see if I can get some folks to beta test it.

Though, I did not attend An Event Apart Boston this year, I was lucky enough to find Andy Clarke’s “Walls Come Tumbling Down” presentation and was able to enjoy the presentation from the comfort of my computer. Read more…
Some people would probably tell you to only create goals that you will be able to reach. However, I think everyone should set goals that seem impossible, so blown out of proportion that you question your sanity. That is what I have done. I have set myself a goal to be reached in 365 days. To have a standard set of expectations for myself won’t push me. I need the fear of failure to drive myself. Read more…
Ok, so you are a designer (or not, how am I supposed to know?), or I will assume you are for the sake of this post. You went to school for design, you live design, love design, everything in your life revolves around or is somehow tied to design. Bottom line is that you care about design. Read more…
